i2i AI Assistant Guide

The i2i AI Assistant is designed to help you quickly search, review, and analyze standards with ease. Whether you’re looking for specific information or exploring complex documents, the AI Assistant streamlines the process—saving you time and effort.

Where to find it on the platform?

The i2i AI Assistant is available on product pages and will appear only when it’s enabled as part of your subscription. If you don’t see the assistant, it may not be included in your current subscription/s.

How to use the i2i AI Assistant?

  1. On the product page, click Ask AI Assistant button to open the version selection window of the AI Assistant.
  2. Select the version of the standard you want the AI Assistant to use as the source of answers. You can only choose one at a time.
  3. Choose the language in which the standard is written.
  4. Either select a pre-made prompt or type your own question into the prompt box.

Accessing historical chats

  1. On the product page, click Ask AI Assistant button to open the assistant window.
  2. Expand the sidebar by clicking on double-line icon at the top left corner of the assistant window.
  3. Click on a history item to open its content or search by clicking on the search icon and typing a keyword which will be searched in the titles or contents of the chat history.
    • You can also delete or rename the title of the saved chat history by clicking on the 3-dot action menu that appears when you click on a chat history item.

Starting a new chat for a different version

There are two ways to start a new chat for a different version of the standard:

  1. Expand the sidebar by clicking on double-line icon at the top left corner of the assistant window then click on the new chat icon.
  2. In the chat response window, click on the dropdown then select a different version of the standard.

What does the Total Subscription Limit mean?

A subscription is set with specific number of AI queries, which are shared across all users under that subscription.

  • Every prompt or question asked to the AI assistant counts as one query.
  • The total usage is cumulative—meaning every query made by any user contributes to the overall limit.

What standards has AI Assistant enabled?

The AI Assistant is available for the most-viewed main versions of standards with PDFs that are compatible with AI indexing. Availability also depends on publisher permissions. Currently, the AI Assistant is not available for standards from SAE and AS due to publisher restrictions, and UL standards due to format incompatibility.

Does the AI Assistant answer questions about all versions of the product?

The AI Assistant provides responses based solely on the information available in the selected version. Questions that relate to other versions or fall outside the scope of the current selection may not be accurately answered.

How accurate is the response provided by the AI Assistant?

While the i2i AI Assistant is designed to support and enhance your research capabilities, it is not a substitute for legal advice or professional judgment. As with any AI-driven tool, the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of responses may vary. We strongly recommend consulting qualified professionals for critical, sensitive, or high-stakes matters.

How the AI Assistant Generates Responses

Our AI Assistant is powered by Azure OpenAI using the GPT-4o mini model, a leading large language model (LLM) designed to understand and generate human-like text.

The assistant uses the selected version of the standard and your input (question or prompt) to generate helpful, context-aware answers. While the model is highly advanced, responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate. Always review critical information or interpretations—especially for compliance, legal, or technical decisions—against the original standard or with a qualified professional.
